Steel Great Helm by PeacefulMynd Steel Great Helm by PeacefulMynd
My very first attempt at working plate metal to make a piece of armor. I wanted to fabricate a helm inspired by the "Great Helms" of the 13th century.

Mild Steel, 1.6mm (1/16 inch) thickness.
Formed by traditional Hammer on Anvil
Assembled by welding
Finish and buffing done with tools.

Thanks, though I must say its a rougher learning curve then leather was. Takes more time to fabricate these types of projects as well. Oh well, it's still a load of fun.

Well worth it. I hope to learn too. I would like to combine the mediums.
